National Refugee Shabbat

Since 2015, the Jewish movement for support for refugees has grown exponentially, and Mitzvah Corps is proud to continue to be a leader in hands-on service and teen engagement in this vital issue. In partnership with the International Rescue Committee, Mitzvah Corps Pacific Northwest has brought hundreds of Jewish teens to Seattle to learn about the global refugee crisis, work directly with recently arrived refugee children, and root their action in Jewish values.

We’re looking forward to continuing this work with teens next summer, and in the meantime, we want to invite our entire network to participate in the National Refugee Shabbat on October 19-20, 2018.

Information about the National Refugee Shabbat, and the many ways that individuals, families, and communities can participate, can be found online here.

If you plan to participate in any way, we’d love to hear from you!

We strongly encourage you to commit (or recommit) to joining us as we take action on behalf of refugees everywhere.
